thanks a lot for the branching strategy , if i have understood it well once the Service request or hotfix has gone into production via release branch, and iam ready for the next major release ( which will go from the main Branch ) then again i should create Service request, hot fix and Release branches form the Main release. I know this is what i need to do but just wanted a confirmation on the same.

From service request i can directly ship to release vehicle (prodution support issues)or every time i need to have the release branch ? and shipment should happen from release branch strictly , the reason to ask this question is in between major release i do get a lot of service requests ( production issues ) which gets deployed weekly , so per my understanding for every week deployment i need to have a release branch from the service request and make the branch read only once released ? please confirm.
